Another week of elections across Europe passed with no surprises. The rise of conservative voting preferences manifested itself in Luxembourg and Germany. The core issues resonating across the polls were consistent: failed migration policies, housing and the economy. 

While most media coverage focused on the rise of Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), now the second-biggest party in both Bavaria and Hessen, the European People’s Party (EPP) member parties emerged victorious, signalling a more profound narrative: stability and understanding how to talk to people about tangible problems.
