Editorial adviser to PartyParty, Paul Taylor was a foreign correspondent, diplomatic, defence and European editor for Reuters from 1977 to 2016, reporting from Europe and the Middle East. He was a columnist for POLITICO Europe from 2016 to 2023 and writes occasionally for the Guardian. He is a senior fellow at Friends of Europe, a Brussels-based think-tank, for which he has published 12 studies on European security and defence. A trained historian, he has written extensively about party politics and policy but has never been a member of a political party. A citizen of France and the UK, born in northern England, he lives in France.
