The raw political talent of GenZ
It’s a cliche now that GenZ voters are reshaping politics — through the communication channels they prefer and the political topics they care about.
But what’s more interesting is that young, ambitious GenZ politicians and party operatives are here to reshape the parties. If we let them. And we should: Z voters can decide on elections if they are engaged enough, so parties and candidates need young politicians and advisors to reach them efficiently. If you have any say in the management of GenZ political talent, here are some tips to use their generational knowledge.
1) Let them manage the newest social media channels. This one should go without saying, but parties are often reluctant to give full control over some of their social media channels — e.g. TikTok — to professionally inexperienced youngsters. But the thing is that these communication channels with a young user base prefer raw honesty to perfectly curated marketing campaigns.
