Following the resignation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte last July, the race among the three main contenders for Dutch general elections on November 22nd remains tight . The newly founded New Social Contract (NSC), led by political veteran Pieter Omtzigt, is fighting neck and neck with outgoing Prime Minister’s People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) and the alliance of the Labour Party (PvdA) and the Green Left (GL) led by former Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans.
