The release of ChatGPT 3 in November 2022 was the moment when AI technologies crossed the chasm and became popular among the masses. A few months after Stable Diffusion and Midjourney were released it certainly made the public aware of the capabilities of AI tools, and thus the AI buzz was born. These tools were not the invention themselves – they were though the crucial milestones in democratising the AI technologies.
In retrospect, ChatGPT was like what Windows did to personal computers and Google to the Internet: it made the new technologies easy to use for anyone. And just like these inventions, it immediately released fear in some members of the society as well as enthusiasm for others. But they are here, and don’t be fooled: the upcoming decade will be all about AI. The sooner you and your volunteers curb the fears and embrace the technology the better results you will have.
