A successful campaign is about your processes
When party operatives are gearing up for a campaign, evaluating available resources, usually a lot of mental energy is spent on the best ways to motivate the party’s membership for the election season. But no matter the quantity or quality of those motivational ideas, all will fail spectacularly without a well-designed, disciplined campaign operation.
So instead, campaign managers should focus 100% of their pre-campaign energy to perfect their processes, especially the ways to scale the party’s or candidate’s digital and physical outreach. Of course, a charismatic politician has the most influence on the commitment of party members and activists, but I’ve seen a lot of them burn out weeks or months before election day even with an inspiring lead candidate. The reason behind these instances is that members and activists don’t really understand their value from the perspective of the whole campaign due to lack of guidance.
