Five extra things to teach your kids about political responsibility
Do your homework
I know I have some strong opinions about things. And you probably hear me muttering at my phone every morning. I’m sorry about that. But sometimes that’s just because I don’t understand. It’s hard to understand other people sometimes, because we don’t always share their experiences or know where they’re coming from. So don’t be worried about sharing your opinions with me. Make sure you always try to learn as much as you can instead of just agreeing with other people — especially the loud ones, like me.
Eat your vegetables
Hey, what are you reading? What do you think about it? Have you learned anything new? It’s important to not just get your news and views through social media. It might be a great place to get up-to-date takes and have a bit of a debate, but it’s a bit tricky to get a real understanding of some complicated subjects. Try reading a book, or even just a longer article. Better yet, try stepping outside the algorithm and reading something that isn’t recommended to you. Try all the vegetables you can and maybe you could recommend some different ones to me?
