You need the expertise and time of retired members
Political parties are nothing without activists ready to gather data, connect with voters and execute the most important jobs that any political campaign requires. Yet, as said before, political party membership is shrinking, and often we see political parties hiring part-time students to talk to voters and stand behind political party stands. However, part-time activists are usually not committed to the cause of your party and are not genuine when building a bond with local voters. With the increasing reality of parties not having enough people to work on the ground, one thing to consider is to recruit your senior and retired members!
While younger generations are more socially active and are likely to join a social cause, our more veteran generations are still keen to support political parties and take on essential tasks. These tasks include: making phone calls, delivering leaflets, knocking on doors, or even driving campaign merch to different points in the city. But why might retired people be interested in joining your party as an activist?
