How to create incentive plans for your political staff

Working in a political institution is often labour-intensive, with little capital reward. Sometimes it is difficult to see why you continue to do it if all you do is work for hours on end, days at a time, with minimal reward. In my experience, it is easy to become disillusioned with the job you are trying to do; being consistently motivated is hard. Looking at employee motivation, particularly in the political space, is essential to create satisfaction among these employees, and it is the management’s responsibility to ensure this satisfaction is achieved. That is why it is essential to create incentive plans for political staff.

Motivation can be affected by a multitude of things. These include internal factors such as interest or enjoyment of the task or external factors like financial rewards or the desire to win. In the workspace, these can be difficult to monitor and expensive to deliver monetary incentives.
