With over seventeen years of experience in journalism working in Budapest, Brasilia, and New York, Mirjam currently works as a literary scout, editor, and freelance writer. As a recipient of the Fulbright grant and the American Association of University Women International Fellowship, she gained her M.S. from Columbia University's Journalism School and then her M.A. in business journalism from New York University. She worked for Reuters News in New York for six years, coordinating and creating multimedia coverage with Reuters colleagues around the world under tight deadlines. She has been freelancing with feature pieces for magazines such as Forbes Hungary and Marie Claire Hungary interviewing people from the head of Tate Modern to the Director of Infectious Diseases for the Ministry of Health of Brazil. Mirjam's non-fiction book about the various ways New York City builds character (Dreams of Others, 2017) is now in its second edition.
